Please join us in telling our Mat-Su Legislators to put a stop to the 20,000 Acre Giveaway Boondoggle now!
The 20,000 acres of state land that is to be given away to AIDEA is currently used by Alaskans for hiking, camping, hunting, fishing, four wheeling, snowmobiling, training sled dogs, and other outdoor recreation;
The proposed plan is unprecedented in the amount of land to be given away and does not include critical details on how this land will be used, who will be permitted to use it, how public access will be impacted, and the timeline for development, demonstrating that the state has not performed due diligence before attempting to fast track this proposal;
Incredibly, the current plan is utterly lacking in stipulations on how the new owners will be permitted to use this public land.
I call on our Mat-Su Legislators to put the brakes on this giveaway now!
