We have many challenges as a state; challenges that have been made worse by the crisis of leadership in the State House and failed experiments like SB91. However, there is also much to appreciate and be truly thankful for. The solutions to our state fiscal crisis are right before us. The Mat-Su Valley is a truly beautiful place to live (trust me, I lived in Afghanistan for a year—we don’t wanna switch places).

Having also traveled with the military to places like Belarus and Washington, D.C., I consider every day that my family and I get to live here in Alaska a privilege. There is no other place on this earth my wife and I would rather raise our kids.

The fight today is now at our front door, and we must fight today for the next generation and every generation of Alaskans who will follow after. Will the freedoms and beauty we now enjoy be their heritage? It is up to us.
