The supplemental this year includes more than $7 million to pay “judgments and settlements” for court cases the state has either lost or settled out of court.

Rather than list the cases that were lost, thereby allowing the public to learn about the circumstances that led to taxpayers being on the hook, a majority of both Democrats and Republicans voted to keep that information out of this year’s budget. Thank you to Rep.
